마포애경타운은 애경그룹의 최초 복합사옥으로서 여러 계열사들이 공동으로 사용하는 복합 사옥이다. 또한 쇼핑몰과 호텔까지 결합한 복합문화시설의 성격도 가지고 있다.
이 중 설계의 범위는 계열사들이 공동으로 사용하는 로비와 복도공간 그리고 VIP층의 시설을 대상으로 진행하였다. 애경포레스트에서 사용한 조명 패턴의 형태를 그대로 활용하여 디자인한 "AK패턴" 은 알고리즘으로 구축하여 모든 장소에 다양한 유형으로 자동 생성될 수 있는 다이내믹 아이덴티티로 디자인하였다.
7층의 로비는 계열사들이 모두 사용하는 커뮤니케이션의 중심이 되는 장소로서 인포, 카페, 라운지, 라이브러리, 미디어체험, 회의실, 교육장 등이 복합적으로 구성된 하이브리드 플레이스이다. 각 프로그램들의 위계는 벽체가 아닌 바닥의 레별 변화로 구성되어 물리적인 경계가 없이 시각적으로 오픈된 대형 홀로 설계하였다.
가장 오픈된 장소와 진입의 용이성이 필요한 인포와 회의실 카페 등은 그라운드 레벨에 위치시켜 접근성을 확보하였고 라이브러리와 프라이빗 라운지 등은 50센티 이상의 레벨로 올려서 공간을 분리하였다. 또한 이러한 다양한 레벨변화는 다양한 시각적 교감을 유도하여 공간을 다이나믹하게 구성한다. 창가의 "AK 패턴"으로 디자인된 무빙 블라인드는 애경포레스트의 공간 이미지를 그대로 반영할 뿐만 아니라 패턴사이로 들어오는 빛이 프라이빗 라운지 바닥으로 자연스럽게 새겨지도록 디자인하였다.
Mapo Aekyung Town is the first complex building of the Aekyung Group, which multiple affiliate companies utilize. It also has the character of a complex cultural facility combining a shopping mall and a hotel. The scope of the design focused on the facilities shared by affiliate companies, such as the lobby, corridor spaces, and VIP floors. The "AK pattern," designed by utilizing the form of the lighting pattern used in Aekyung Forest, was created using an algorithm and designed as a dynamic identity that can be automatically generated in various types in all locations.
The lobby on the 7th floor serves as the central hub for communication utilized by all affiliate companies. It has been designed as a hybrid place comprising various elements such as an info desk, café, lounge, library, media experience area, conference rooms, and educational spaces. The hierarchy of each program is structured not by walls but by changes in the level of the floor and a large, visually open hall without physical boundaries.
The most open areas and facilities requiring easy access, such as the info desk and meeting rooms café, are located on the ground level to ensure accessibility. The library and private lounge, on the other hand, are elevated to a level more than 50 centimeters higher to separate the spaces. Furthermore, these varied level changes create a dynamic structure for the space by inducing various visual interactions. The moving blinds, designed with the "AK pattern" along the windows, not only reflect the spatial image of Aekyung Forest but also allow natural light to filter through the patterns, gently illuminating the floor of the private lounge.
2층의 소형로비는 7층으로 진입전에 보안 게이트를 통과하는 공간으로서 기업의 이미지를 적극적으로 표현할 수 있는 패턴월을 조성하였다. 4면을 감아도는 벽체에 새겨진 유기적인 라인들과 라인들이 겹쳐지며 만들어진 입체 보이드들이 애경포레스트의 장소성을 다른 이미지로 상징화하며 입체 벽체에 양각된 " LOVE, RESPECT " 입체 그래픽은 기업의 정체성을 드러낸다. 또한 8-13층의 복도공간에는 "AK 패턴"을 입체적으로 조각하여 오피스 어느 공간에서도 애경포레스트 만의 고유성을 인지할 수 있도록 하여 특유의 장소성을 만들어냈다.
The small lobby on the 2nd floor is a space where you pass through the security gate before entering the 7th floor, where the patterned wall is placed to actively express the corporation identity of Aekyung. Organic lines carved into the patterned walls that wrap around all four sides, along with three-dimensional voids created by overlapping lines, symbolize the spatiality of Aekyung Forest in a different image. Besides, the "LOVE, RESPECT" three-dimensional graphic embossed on the three-dimensional wall reveals the corporate identity. Additionally, on the corridors of the 8th to 13th floors, the "AK pattern" is carved three-dimensionally to create a distinctive sense of the place, ensuring that a characteristic of Aekyung Forest can be perceived from any office space.
